Excellent historical fiction if you don't mind some soap opera romance in the mix. This epic adventure is set in 870's England during an invation of the Danes. Real life figures play prominant roles around fictional characters. There are some fantastic details about everyday life from food preparation to wound cleansing methods, how to make linen from flax, weapon and armor descriptions , ect.. My favorite part about this adventure is the unbiased comparison of the Norse religious practices vs. the Christian practices. - Lily May , posted 10/23/06 |
